They make it a goal to treat each patient like their own and will do anything possible for their patients and the owners who love them. Each patient is given plenty of love and attention, and we will do everything we can to make a sick pet feel better as soon as possible.

Gwendolyn O. – Veterinary Technician (LVT)

Gwendolyn is Licensed Veterinary Technician here at Northeastern Veterinary Care Center. She received her degree through SUNY Ulster and has been working with animals all her life. Originally from New York, she knew she wanted to work with animals during her early high school years. “I took a human anatomy and human biology class and realized half way through I was bored. I found myself thinking about how all of the information related to animals instead of people.” Even though we’ve only been open for a short while, she jumped at the opportunity to take in a stray kitten that was brought to us, and nurse it back to health. She just loves to help the ones who help us any way she can.

Jen C. – Veterinary Technician

In September of 2018, Jen brought her passion for animal care to the NEVCC team.  She graduated from the University of Connecticut, Storrs with a two Bachelor’s degrees, one in Animal Science and one in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology.  In her first career she spent 13 years as a marine mammal trainer at the Mystic Aquarium caring for everything from African penguins to beluga whales, but her true passion was the California sea lions.  If you have seen a sea lion show there, Jen may look familiar!  Now, Jen loves sharing her training knowledge and experience with clients at the clinic.  Jen also has spent much of her life working with horses and participating in the sport of equestrian vaulting, which is gymnastics on horseback!  The animal closest and dearest to Jen’s heart though is of course her own rescue mutt, Bella, who may or may not be a little on the spoiled side!

Twylah C. – Receptionist

Twylah has always had an affinity for animal care. Between having pets of all kinds growing up, volunteering at local rescues & managing a pet shop, she has always ended up somewhere there was animals to care for. In fact, despite initially attending college for Education, she was continuously looking for opportunities in the animal care field instead. Finally, she has found her place within the NEVCC family where she can realize her passion for caring for animals & the people who love them while pursuing further learning regarding animal medicine. Twylah lives locally with her fiancée & their fur babies, hound dog Lucy, kitty Grayson & crazy conure Tiki, while waiting for their first human baby, expected in Spring 2018.

Julie D. – Receptionist

Julie gained a passion for animals by growing up with an array of pets. Deciding to pursue the animal care field, she attended the University of Rhode Island and graduated with a BS in marine biology. Throughout college she volunteered at Mystic Aquarium and was hired as a sea lion trainer after graduating. For 10 years Julie cared for and trained California sea lions while performing in daily educational shows. She is now happily at NEVCC where she’s excited to gain exposure in the veterinary field. Julie is inspired by the connection that can be made between humans and animals and loves seeing the bond between owners and their beloved fur babies. She resides in Coventry, RI with her husband, Jamie, and their crew of cats: Lucy, Noah, and Puff.

Abby I. – Exam Room Assistant

Abby is currently enrolled in MxCC’s Veterinary Technology program with an anticipated graduation date of 2020, after which she will become a certified Veterinary Technician. She has always had a passion for animals and science, and thus, she decided to pursue a career path that fused both. She has one sassy, 15-year-old cat named Ginger, whom she’s had since a wee kitten. She also previously had a cat named Beans, who, unfortunately, at the young age of 18 months, succumbed to a liver disease and joined kitty heaven. This further fueled her desire to pursue the veterinary field and aid animals any way she can!
